" Prov 27:2 Dear Mr. Johnson: "First of all, I apologize for the delay in sending you this letter. My teenage son underwent three sessions for counseling at your office earlier this year. I originally brought him in because he had had a few emotional outbursts that concerned us and led us to believe he was suffering from some form of depression. He was very unhappy and would spend most of his time in his room, or on the internet, or playing video games. He had little or no interaction with his family at all. We would approach him and try to find out why he was so unhappy, but there was little or no communication on his part with us. Since attending the Belief Therapy sessions with you, he has a new attitude about things. The little things that used to be such a big deal don't seem to bother him too much anymore. He is communicating with us now again and has started to interact more with us as a family. He seems to think clearer about things than he did before. He told me that he felt he was not in control of his emotions, but now he knows that he is the one in control. Whatever confusion he was going through seems to be gone now. I wanted to thank you for your help; it has made a difference in his life and in ours. Sincerely, C.M.H. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * "In December of 2002 and May of 2003 --- I found myself as an in-patient in a mental-behavioral hospital where I underwent therapy sessions all day; the therapists were excellent at times. These were group sessions; role-playing, etc. was utilized. The secular therapists could never admit or use GOD; they used higher being, depending on the patient's background. My secular therapists were helping me with coping, setting boundaries, etc. yet I still felt like, since I am a CHRISTian, that I needed a therapist that was GOD-oriented. In Oct 2003 I changed to a new therapist. A friend of mine informed me of THE GRACE PLACE in Conroe, Tx and gave me the telephone number ...When I walked into BJ Johnson's office I found a totally different atmosphere. When I filled out all the paperwork that was required, including the Biblical Personality Profile, I found out I did not even know who I was. Sure I knew my name, address, SS status, etc, but Who Was I Really? The first Scripture he gave me was Prov 16:3, "Commit your works (beliefs) to the LORD and your thoughts will be established (and your plans will succeed)." He asked me to memorize it. I started focusing on that Scripture plus many more. I began keeping a daily journal or blessings and prayers and Scriptures and this has helped me tremendously. ....All my thoughts fell into place once I realized who I am and GOD loves me---HE knows me, HE knows my thoughts, my prayers...HE directs my daily paths, moment by moment. I thank GOD that there are Belief Therapists that counsel with the guidance of the HOLY SPIRIT. Secular therapists (who do not know the LORD) do not understand us as CHRISTians, because we see life from a different perspective, an eternal perspective. I love going to sessions with my Belief Therapist because I can sit and talk about GOD's Word and things that have upset me. GOD was and is still healing me through the things I learned at The GRACE PLACE. I go to bed talking to the LORD. I have worked through fear, the word 'Spiritual Schizophrenic', and many other issues which I will not go into now. It helps me just knowing there are CHRISTian Belief Therapists that GOD uses through the ministry of the HOLY SPIRIT. I just knew when I walked into BJ's office that GOD was leading ....I have no fear of death now -- realizing I will live forever with the LORD JESUS. --CV-- P.S. I like the concept that we are soul and spirit housed in a body; so to heal we have to go from the inside out instead of the outside in...Spirit, soul, and body...To replace lies with the truth of GOD's Word. This has helped me so much (because it works)! I thank GOD for CHRISTIAN Belief Therapists that use the Bible and GOD's SPIRIT in their counseling. |
